Green Canyon, Exotic Indonesian Canyon

Maybe you already know about Grand Canyon, but do you know about Green Canyon? It is one of the finest favorite travel destinations in the South Coast of West Java, Pangandaran, Indonesia. If Grand Canyon is widely-knows as having great rocks and barren land, Green Canyon has its own "style". In Green Canyon we can find lot of shady trees up on the top of the canyon, and the refreshing water of the Cijulang River.

You can explore this Canyon by two methods. First, you can feel its beauty by boat, or you can challenge yourself to do body rafting from the headwaters of Cijulang River. Put no worries on the security of body rafting. People are equipped with wear basic safety gear like foot protector, knee protector, helmet, and life vest. But you have to note that this river has big rocks, so when you cross cascade, make sure that you always look forward. When rainy season comes, the flow is swift. So I think its best for you to come here in sunny season, to make it safer.

The body rafting length itself is around 4 Km (2.5 Miles) and about 4 hours. Is it too much? I don't think you will say this when you try it. 20-30 Meter (65-98 foot) of canyon rock, and green colored clear river water will make you forget about everything. Along it, you will find a Bat Cave (maybe you can meet Batman there. Just kidding). The natives called this cave as lalay cave or smelly cave. And of course, you can go there too.

You can find an enormous number of hanging roots here. You can also enjoy the water droplets and if you're lucky, you may see a rainbow. And if you want more challenging activity, you can jump from the top of Umbrella rock. This big rock has umbrella shape, so its called Umbrella rock. Its high is around 5-7 Meter (16-23 foot), and you have to try it for yourself.
